KNX-Ops Product Reviews - Baofeng UV-77HP
2025-04-18
The Baofeng UV-77HP is part of the famed Baofeng UV family. It is very similar to the UV-5R I did a review on previously, and most things
on that page also apply to this radio, such as its range of 136-172 and 400-520 MHz. There are some notable differences, however:
- This radio typically outputs 6W (despite being advertised as a 7W radio) as opposed to the UV-5R's 5W.
- This radio has a dual push-to-talk button, meaning one button is used on the upper channel and one for the lower channel.
Pros:
- Very low-cost
- Scans a wide range of frequencies
- 128 memory channels
- Simple to unlock transmit on all frequencies
Cons:
- May have "spurrious-RF" emissions
- Cheaper materials for construction

is a very similar radio except for its power output.)
